#WEAreTrayvonMartin
This is a tragedy that cannot be reversed.
We have lost one of nearly 12,000 (4,651 were ages 15-24) who were shot in 2010; (According to the CDC) In comparison to almost 40,000 (4,559 were 15-24) who committed suicide.
We can always look at statistics to make observations or conclusions about an issue but there is one thing we do not know and will never know... The FULL truth. What really happened? I'll try to keep this as short as possible while including the information required to gain perspective into this historic moment of our generation.
CDC deaths in 2010 for ages 15-24.

"The hoodie did not aid in the death of Trayvon. It was the color of his skin. Not going to buy a hoodie and claim to be someone else. I will make my stand as myself, a young black male refusing to live and raise my future children in a society that still judges them by the color of their skin but by their integrity and moral character. This is a racial fight, I don't understand why we are jumping on the bandwagon with this whole hoodie issue. Let's focus at the real matters at hand. This is my opinion and my constitutional right, to freedom of speech. " ~Dasma Williams of Sarasota, FL

"On February 26, our son Trayvon Martin was shot and killed as he walked to a family member’s home from a convenience store where he had just bought some candy. He was only 17 years-old."

How easy is it to let a story run out of control? Obviously it is not difficult at all. The liberal left and the conservative right have both made wild statements filled with ignorance. We are allowing ourselves to be affected by the media who manipulates the general population for their own gains. Will we ever know the whole story? "Facts" will be weighed, various sides & perspectives will be recorded, but we NEVER get the full truth. Only God knows what really happened.

Who are we to judge when we do not have all of the information?!
LET US NOT LOOSE SIGHT OF THE ISSUE AT HAND!!

DeleteOk so after much prayer because I was just about at wits end with this whole situation... here's what I resolved about the Trayvon murder situation... THIS IS MY THOUGHTS... I was just telling Keshia Octavia Butler, Christopher Hammons yesterday that I'm not sure why they keep showing these childhood pics of Trayvon who was 17. And I'm sure that like most 17 yr olds.. he was prolly a typical black teen. Parents, aunts, uncles and the like of teens black, white, or green know what I mean by that. But I feel like the pics are a play on emotions and that's whats adding the the public feelings on the case. Wrong is Wrong but let's just go with fact instead of adding our own subliminal messages thru the media.
ReplyDeleteThis Zimmerman dude sees this teen looking like what he thinks a thug looks like. Some kinda way he sees the kids face and sees he's black. Because at initial call with the 911 folk... he say he couldn't tell what color the kid was. then he says he's black and starts the pursuit. He walks up on Trayvon who asks "Why you following me?/What you following me for?" he responds "What you doing around here?" *here is where my logic kicks in...* At that point MOST TEENS are goin to react with a smart ass remark because this person has followed you now approached you and is bothering you... I MYSELF would have said something like "minding my business! What do you want!" or something to that effect... then the girlfriend here's the phone drop so she figures Trayvon was pushed... I'm going to reason and say either one could have been pushed. I believe Trayvon could have pushed Zimmerman to get him out of his face. Let's be realistic... he's 17 and he's 6'3... he's feeling threatened and not sure what the hell is going on. He's going to try to get Zimmeran to leave him alone. (NOW I KNOW YALL MAD AT ME BUT YOU'LL BE FINE!) or let's say Zimmerman pushed Trayvon... if Trayvon didn't see the gun on Zimmerman at that time... his next reaction would be to defend himself. I DO NOT KNOW ANY 17 YEAR OLD BLACK MALE that is going to sit there and be pushed without any regard of defending himself from whomever in a 1 on 1 situation. So I'm thinking they probably tussled for a sec. Zimmerman claims to have brusies and some scars as well as he should from having a physical altercation with a teen male. So I'll even go as far as to say that Trayvon may have gotten a lick or two in on him because if I were a 17 year old boy, then I would have swung on him for damn sure for approaching me like that. Then Zimmerman pulls out his gun. Now Trayvon realizes that Zimmerman may kill him so he's screaming for help. Zimmerman is now getting a thrill from the boy being scared and also he's raged because the boy actually tried to defend himself (the typical movie scene where the aggressor gets punched in the face and now he pulls out a gun and says "who's scared now") and shoots him in the chest. Trayvon falls and now Zimmerman is straddling him on his back pushing his shoulders into the ground while he's face down in the grass ensuring that he loses all breath. The witnesses ask whats going on... he tells them call the police. They arrive and he has a few scratches and bruises says he shot the dude in self defense and walks away....
So yep...I believe he felt like it was self defense... problem with that is that had you not approached him, you would have no reason to defend yourself against him. I just can'!!!with the media acting like this was a 10 year old child that was run up on and shot within 10 secs no words exchanged or nothing. Trayvon was murdered in cold blood, by an aggressor who took it upon himself to chase this kid once he realized he was black. He called him a racial slur and he shot him dead. With that being bad enough... the subliminals that we are receiving have us to picture Trayvon as I would picture my scared innocent 10 year old son and thats just not the realistic nature of this situation. Let's let fact be fact and wrong be wrong. There was a shooting, that alone is grounds for an arrest. I am afraid that Zimmerman's team will continue to dig up more stuff on Trayvon to paint a picture of him as a trouble maker if the media doesn't quit trying to paint the picture of him as a scared little boy. And I'm sure we'll find out that he wasn't a saint so let's stick to facts and witnesses to say what happened on that night and watch as justice prevails. He'll have to be arrested soon...too many eyes are on this case now for it not to happen. Can't wait to see how this trial plays out and if my theory of the events turn out to be close to the actual events ...
